Nahid Islam, convener of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP), has issued a strong warning in response to alleged grenade attacks and bomb blasts carried out by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) along the Chapainawabganj border.

Speaking at a street rally on Sunday afternoon, Nahid Islam strongly condemned the incidents and pledged a firm response.

Nahid said, “We will no longer tolerate aggression at the border. If there is even one more attack on our brothers, we will launch a long march toward the border. We will protect our own territory.”

Referring to recent political shifts, Nahid added, “Since the July uprising, we have envisioned a new Bangladesh—one that delivers justice for mass killings and recognizes the July Declaration and the July Charter.”

Expressing solidarity with the people of Chapainawabganj, he highlighted local grievances: “There are no job opportunities here. People are neglected in terms of education and healthcare. This inequality must end. Though the district is renowned for its mangoes and silk, successive governments have failed to showcase them on the world stage.”

Earlier in the day, an NCP motorcade moved from Naogaon to Chapainawabganj. The rally started at Shantimore and continued to the college grounds, where party leaders and supporters assembled. The party also inaugurated its new district office at the Club Super Market.

Senior Joint Convener Samanta Sharmin, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Chief Organizers Sargis Alam (North) and Hasnat Abdullah (South), Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwari, Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr. Tasnim Zarah, Joint Member Secretary Zainal Abedin Shishir, along with several other party leaders, were present at the event.
