Narendra Modi's Eid greetings to PM Tarique Rahman

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his warmest greetings and congratulations to Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and the people of the country on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

The Indian Prime Minister conveyed these greetings to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman through a special letter on behalf of the people of India. The message of the letter was released by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Thursday.

In his greetings, Narendra Modi said that Eid-ul-Azha highlights the eternal ideals of sacrifice, compassion and brotherhood, which play an important role in building a peaceful and inclusive world.

He further mentioned that the Muslim people of the country celebrate this festival with joy and enthusiasm as an important part of India's rich and diverse culture.

Recalling the historical relations between the two countries, the Indian Prime Minister said that Bangladesh and India are connected to each other on the basis of long-standing cultural ties, mutual cooperation and common aspirations for peace and development.

He said that the Indian government is keen to work closely with Bangladesh to further strengthen cooperation in various fields.

In the last part of the letter, Narendra Modi wished Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman good health and long life and wished peace, progress and prosperity for the people of Bangladesh.
