Nasiruddin Patwary attacked with eggs, brickbats in Jhenaidah
National Citizen Party chief organiser Nasiruddin Patwary came under attack after Juma prayers in Jhenaidah on Friday, with attackers hurling eggs and brickbats and attacking him with a hockey stick.
The incident took place after Jumma prayers in front of the old Collectorate Mosque around 2pm, according to a Facebook post by Patwary.
Patwary alleged that Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal activists carried out the attack in the presence of police. He claimed that three people sustained head injuries, while several others were injured. He was also punched and kicked. The NCP leader further alleged that the attackers snatched his mobile phone, camera and wallet.
Following the attack, Patwary took shelter at the local police station and was preparing to file a case.
He also claimed that BNP, Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal were preparing to attack again near the police station.
The Jhenaidah incident is the latest in a series of attacks on the NCP leader. Earlier in January, eggs and dirty water were thrown at him during a campaign rally in Dhaka’s Siddheshwari area.
