National elections to be held before Feb 15: Press Secretary

The 13th National Parliament elections will be held before February 15, Chief Adviser’s (CA) Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed on Saturday (August 30) during a briefing at the CA’s residence in Jamuna.

Shafiqul Alam said, “I strongly affirm that the elections will take place in the first half of February. No force or conspiracy can prevent it. The polls will be held just before February 15.”

When asked about the feasibility of holding elections amid the current law and order situation, he noted that updates are being regularly obtained from the police headquarters to monitor conditions.

He also said the Chief Adviser is scheduled to meet leaders of BNP, Jamaat, and NCP on Sunday to discuss preparations for the elections and related current affairs.
