Leaders and activists of the banned Chhatra League hoisted the national and party flags at the district office of Bangladesh Awami League in Faridpur.

They hoisted the national and party flags on two stands previously set up in front of the district Awami League office on Thana Road, adjacent to the Chawkbazar intersection in the city, at around 7am on Friday (February 20).

Former General Secretary of Faridpur City Jubo League Asibur Rahman Farhan, former VP of Faridpur Government Rajendra College and Jubo League leader Kawsar Akand, District Chhatra League General Secretary Fahim Ahmed, former Vice President of District Chhatra League Debashish Nayan and 8-10 leaders and activists were present at the time. They raised the slogan 'Joy Bangla'.

Debashish Nayan said that on the instructions of Mujibur Rahman Nixon Chowdhury, a member of the Bangladesh Awami Jubo League presidium, and under the leadership of Farhan and Kawsar, the national and party flags were hoisted at the party office.

The matter came to light when they themselves recorded the incident and posted it on the social media Facebook.

It is worth noting that this office on Thana Road had been used as the party office of the Awami League for a long time. In 2022, the new office of the district Awami League was inaugurated on Hasibul Hasan Lavlu Road in Alipur Mohalla of the city. However, after the political situation changed on August 5, 2024, the new office was vandalized and arson was committed. Later, it is known that the 'July Memorial' was built there.
