Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah-ul-Azim has been promoted to the rank of Admiral, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR). The promotion was announced in a press release issued by the ISPR on Sunday (August 23). Khondkar Misbah-ul-Azim was appointed chief of the Bangladesh Navy on July 16 and assumed office on July 23. He is scheduled to serve as the Navy chief until July 22, 2029. His promotion to the four-star rank comes shortly after taking charge as the head of the naval force.

এডমিরাল পদে পদোন্নতি পেয়েছেন নৌবাহিনী প্রধান ভাইস এডমিরাল খোন্দকার মিসবাহ উল আজীম। রবিবার (২৩ আগস্ট) এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানিয়েছে আন্তঃবাহিনী জনসংযোগ পরিদপ্তর (আইএসপিআর)। এর আগে গত ১৬ জুলাই রিয়ার এডমিরাল খোন্দকার মিসবাহ উল আজীম নৌবাহিনী প্রধান হিসেবে নিয়োগ পান এবং ২৩ জুলাই তিনি দায়িত্বভার গ্রহণ করেন। সেসময় প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের উপ-সচিব এম জে আরিফ বেগ স্বাক্ষরিত এক প্রজ্ঞাপনে জানানো হয়, রিয়ার এডমিরাল খোন্দকার মিসবাহ উল আজীমকে ২০২৯ সালের ২২ জুলাই পর্যন্ত তিন বছরের জন্য বাংলাদেশ নৌবাহিনীর প্রধান হিসেবে নিয়োগ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
