Navy operation in Teknaf recovers drugs, foreign weapons

A huge amount of drugs and foreign firearms worth about 300 million taka have been recovered in a special operation by the Bangladesh Navy in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. At the same time, the accused in several cases have been arrested.

Based on a secret information, a team of the Bangladesh Navy conducted an operation in the Alikhali area of ​​Hnila Union in Teknaf Upazila early on Monday (May 4). During the operation, a search was conducted at a local brick kiln.

During the search, 5 kg of crystal meth (ice) and 100,000 pieces of Yaba were recovered from the ground of the brick kiln. The estimated market value of these recovered drugs is said to be about 300 million taka.

2 pistols, 2 magazines and 4 rounds of bullets were also recovered during this time. In addition, a person named Nurul Kabir was arrested from the Alikhali area.

Later, the recovered narcotics, weapons and ammunition and the arrested accused were handed over to Teknaf Police Station for necessary legal action.

The Bangladesh Navy said that its operations to prevent drug and arms smuggling in the sea and coastal areas will continue.
