Navy recovers arms and ammunition in Teknaf operation
Bangladesh Navy has recovered firearms and ammunition in an operation conducted in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, as part of its regular drive to curb criminal activities and ensure national security.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) release issued on Saturday, October 11, the operation was carried out based on intelligence information on Friday, October 10, in Moulvipara area under Teknaf Sadar Union.
During the raid, the Navy searched the house of notorious criminal Abdul Khalek and found a large cache of weapons buried in his yard.
Recovered items include one 7.62 mm foreign pistol, one live pistol round, one locally made shotgun, five shotgun cartridges, and nine homemade weapons. The seized arms and ammunition were later handed over to Teknaf Police Station for legal action.
ISPR said the Bangladesh Navy continues its relentless efforts to curb illegal weapons, drugs, and criminal activities in its designated areas and will carry on such operations in the future.
