NBR first secretary Tanzina Rais temporarily suspended

National Board of Revenue (NBR) First Secretary Tanzina Rais has been temporarily suspended on charges of misconduct and absconding, according to a notification issued by the Customs-2 branch of the Internal Resources Department (IRD) on Thursday (July 10).

The suspension was ordered under sections 3(b) and 3(c) of the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018.

The notification, signed by IRD Secretary and NBR Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan, states that Tanzina will receive her salary during the suspension period as per the rules.

Sources revealed that Tanzina left the country for her child's medical treatment but subsequently went to Australia and has not returned, leading to her absence from duty without proper leave.
