In a bid to enhance trade facilitation and strengthen engagement with the business community, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has announced a new initiative titled ‘Meet the Business’, to be held on the second Wednesday of every month at the Revenue Building in Agargaon, Dhaka.

According to a press release issued on Wednesday, the monthly sessions will provide a platform for traders and stakeholders to raise issues related to customs, VAT, and income tax directly with NBR officials. The NBR chairman and board members will participate in the sessions to listen to field-level challenges and gather insights from the business community.

The first session under this initiative is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Wednesday at the NBR’s multipurpose hall (Room No. 301). Business representatives interested in attending have been requested to fill out a designated form online.

The NBR said the move aims to improve transparency and accountability in the revenue collection process while fostering a more dynamic business environment. Regular dialogue with the private sector will help the board better understand ground realities and take effective, solution-oriented measures, the statement added.

This monthly interaction is part of the NBR’s broader commitment to ease doing business and streamline tax administration in line with global best practices.
