NCP among 3 new parties allotted election symbols

The Election Commission (EC) has allotted election symbols to three newly registered political parties, including the National Citizen Party (NCP). The other two are the Bangladesh Am Jonogon Party and the Socialist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist).

According to separate EC notifications issued on Tuesday (November 4), NCP received the ‘Shapla Koli’ symbol, the Socialist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist) received the ‘Scissors’ symbol, and the Am Jonogon Party received the ‘Handshake’ symbol.

The EC stated that the parties applied for registration under Section 6(A) of the Representation of the People Order, 1972 (P.O. No. 155).

It also said that any objection regarding the registrations must be submitted in writing, with relevant documents and reasons, to EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed by November 12.
