The newly formed political party National Citizen Party (NCP) has begun selling nomination forms ahead of the upcoming national election. The minimum price of each form is Tk 10,000, while for freedom fighters and their families, it is Tk 2,000. The NCP is allowing submission of forms both online and in person.

The information was disclosed during a “Meet the Press” event organised by the NCP’s Central Election Steering Committee on Thursday evening.

Nasiruddin Patwary, chief coordinator of the party and head of the Central Election Steering Committee, along with Dr Tasnim Jara, secretary of the committee and senior joint member secretary of the party, shared the details with journalists.

Nasiruddin Patwary said, “The NCP has started selling nomination forms for the national election. The price of each form is Tk 10,000, and for freedom fighters and their families, Tk 2,000.”

He further said that the NCP will announce its preliminary list of candidates on November 15.

When asked whether the NCP will form an alliance with the BNP or Jamaat in the upcoming election, he replied, “If either the BNP or Jamaat supports the July Charter and reform implementation, we may form an alliance with either of them.” The top leader also mentioned that there is a possibility of a nine-party political alliance in favour of the July Charter and reform implementation.

Dr Tasnim Jara said that candidates can collect nomination forms in three ways: directly from the central office, online, or through the party’s two chief organisers and organisational secretaries, who will also accept completed forms.
