A leader has resigned from the National Citizen Party (NCP) after the party's associate organisation, National Women's Power, announced its 53-member full committee.

Dyuti Aranyo Chowdhury expressed surprise at seeing her name in the newly announced committee and announced her withdrawal from all party positions.

The new committee was published on the party's verified Facebook page at noon on Saturday, April 18. Earlier, on March 8, International Women's Day, a partial committee was announced, which named Monira Sharmin as convener, Mahmuda Alam Mitu as member secretary, and Nusrat Tabassum as chief organiser. The full committee added 48 more members alongside them.

In the new committee, Sagufa Bushra was made senior joint convener and Monzila Jhumu senior joint member secretary. Additionally, multiple leaders were given responsibilities in several key positions.

Dyuti Aranyo Chowdhury was named as the number one joint member secretary in the committee. Shortly after, in a social media post on Saturday afternoon, she said she had already been inactive in party activities and was surprised to see her name in the new committee. She also announced her resignation from all positions within the NCP.

Regarding the matter, National Women's Power convener Monira Sharmin said Dyuti Aranyo Chowdhury had been active in the organisation's activities before, which is why she was included in the committee. However, following her resignation announcement, a revised committee will be published soon considering the situation.
