NCP leader resigns, requests no contact with organisation members
Faridpur district National Citizen Party (NCP) convening committee Joint Member Secretary Haider Mollah, 31, has resigned.
He sent a two-line resignation letter to the district committee's acting convener on Monday afternoon.
In the letter, he wrote, "I, Haider Mollah, am resigning from the post of Faridpur district NCP Joint Member Secretary. Leaders and activists of NCP and its associate bodies are requested not to contact me."
Confirming the matter, he said he decided to step down voluntarily and after thoughtful consideration due to personal engagements and family reasons. He said he will not remain active in politics for now.
District NCP Acting Convener Shahed Ahmed confirmed receiving the resignation letter and said it will be forwarded to the central committee. Further decisions will be made according to the party constitution.
He said anyone can change their political position in a democratic country.
Notably, on December 8, 2025, the 101-member convening committee for Faridpur district was announced on NCP's verified Facebook page. The approval was signed by NCP Chief Organiser (South Region) Hasanat Abdullah and Central Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain.
