NCP leaders speaking without understanding referendum: Law Minister
Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman said, ‘The statements made by NCP leaders about the referendum are made without understanding them. They only half understand them. We will respond to their statements in the National Parliament. The statements they are making are not correct, BNP respects the July Charter and we want to walk the path in the light of the July Charter. We want to walk with emotion and law together.’
The Law Minister said these things in response to questions from journalists after inaugurating the Moragachha-Hasimpur canal excavation program in Khoksa Upazila of Kushtia on Monday afternoon (March 16).
Regarding the case backlog after August 5, the Law Minister said, ‘We will talk to all parties and take a decision on these cases based on everyone’s opinions. In response to another question, he said, the BNP government will dig 20,000 kilometers of rivers and canals in the country and evict illegal occupants.’
Earlier, Law Minister Asaduzzaman addressed a rally as the chief guest on the occasion of canal excavation. Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Mahbubul Alam presided over the event, which was also addressed by BNP MP from Kushtia-1 constituency Reza Ahmed Bachchu, Jamaat MP from Kushtia-4 constituency Afzal Hussain and local BNP leaders.
