NCP’s rally in Rajbari draws tight security
The National Citizen Party (NCP) is set to hold a significant march in Rajbari district today (Thursday) as part of its July campaign to build the nation. In response, local law enforcement agencies have ramped up security across the district.
The heightened alert comes amid a scheduled protest rally by banned Chhatra League on the same day, prompting authorities to take preventive measures against any potential disturbances and ensure the safety of NCP’s central leadership.
Early this morning, law enforcement personnel were stationed at strategic points throughout Rajbari town. A strong security presence was noted at the Shaheed Smriti Chottor near Railgate No. 1, the designated venue for the NCP rally. Army, police, and RAB forces continued patrolling key roads, while intelligence agencies maintained close surveillance.
Preparations for the event are in their final stages, with banners and festoons displayed prominently along the main streets.
Md. Sharif Al Rajib, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operations), confirmed that the district police have implemented multi-tiered security arrangements for the march. He added that alongside the police, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the military will also actively participate in maintaining law and order.
