Nepal’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanashyam Bhandari, paid a courtesy call on BNP chairperson Tarique Rahman. The meeting was held at the BNP chairperson’s political office in Gulshan on Saturday afternoon, January 17. Sources said the discussions focused on Bangladesh–Nepal bilateral relations, regional cooperation, peace and stability in South Asia, and various aspects of further strengthening relations between the two countries in the future. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and joint secretary general and member of the BNP chairperson’s Foreign Affairs Advisory Committee, Humayun Kabir, were also present at the meeting.

বিএনপির চেয়ারম্যান তারেক রহমানের সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেছেন বাংলাদেশে নিযুক্ত নেপালের রাষ্ট্রদূত ঘনশ্যাম ভান্ডারী। শনিবার (১৭ জানুয়ারি) বিকেলে গুলশানে বিএনপির চেয়ারম্যানের রাজনৈতিক কার্যালয়ে এ সাক্ষাৎ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্র জানায়, বৈঠকে বাংলাদেশ ও নেপালের পারস্পরিক সম্পর্ক, আঞ্চলিক সহযোগিতা, দক্ষিণ এশিয়ায় শান্তি ও স্থিতিশীলতা এবং ভবিষ্যতে দ্বিপক্ষীয় সম্পর্ক আরও জোরদারের বিভিন্ন দিক নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়। সাক্ষাৎকালে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিএনপি মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর এবং যুগ্ম মহাসচিব ও বিএনপি চেয়ারম্যানের ফরেন অ্যাফেয়ার্স অ্যাডভাইজারি কমিটির সদস্য হুমায়ুন কবির।
