Md. Nurul Afsar, 45, was injured after being stabbed by his nephew outside a polling center under Akbar Shah Police Station in Chattogram Metropolitan area.

However, it is not yet known whether the incident was related to voting or any political dispute.
The incident occurred around 12:30 pm on Thursday in front of the Haji Daud Ahmed Government Primary School polling center in Chattogram-4 constituency.

Nurul Afsar is son of late Nurul Alam of Bashir Mohammad Bari.

According to local sources, Nurul Afsar was heading toward the polling center to cast his vote when an argument broke out between him and his nephew Iman and Iman’s brother. At one stage of the altercation, Nurul Afsar was stabbed.

Locals rescued him and admitted him to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) around 1:30 pm. He is currently undergoing treatment in the casualty ward.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Akbar Shah Police Station, Md. Kamruzzaman, said the incident did not occur within the polling center premises. It stemmed from a personal dispute between the uncle and nephew and had no connection to the election. Legal action is being taken in this regard.
