The Bangladesh Police uniform has been changed. According to the new amendment, district police and members of most units will wear dark blue shirts and khaki pants. For metropolitan police, the shirt colour has been set as light olive.

The changes were announced in a notification published on Thursday, June 18. Under Section 12 of the Police Act, 1861, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) issued the amendment to the Police Dress Rules, 2025, with the government's approval.

The gazette was signed by IGP Md Ali Hossain Fakir.

According to the amended rules, the previously designated iron-colour shirts will be replaced by dark blue shirts, and coffee-colour pants will be replaced by khaki trousers. The colour of jackets, jerseys, cardigans and pullovers has also been set to dark blue. However, for metropolitan police, jackets and shirts will be light olive.

Changes have also been made to the attire of female police officers. Under the amended provisions, female members may wear dark blue saris with dark blue blouses. For female members of metropolitan police, dark blue saris with light olive blouses have been prescribed. Female members working in traffic units or wishing to cover their heads may wear full-sleeve shirts or blouses throughout the year.
