New record of dengue hospitalizations, 756 patients in a single day

The outbreak of dengue has further intensified in the country. In the last 24 hours, 756 people have been admitted to various hospitals across the country with dengue fever. This is the highest number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals in a single day this year.

This information was provided in a report by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.

According to DGHS data, 726 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the previous 24 hours. Within a single day, 30 more new patients have been hospitalized.

With the new patients, the total number of dengue infections in the country has risen to 20,827 this year.

According to the DGHS, a total of 61 people have died from dengue so far this year. Among the deceased, 39 are women and 22 are men.

In terms of fatalities, the highest number of deaths has been recorded in the Dhaka South City Corporation area, where 20 people have died so far.

Meanwhile, as of Tuesday morning at 8am, 1,584 dengue patients were undergoing treatment in various hospitals across the country.
