'No army involvement in DUCSU polls'

The Bangladesh Army has clarified that it has no involvement in the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections. The announcement was made in a statement posted on the army’s official verified Facebook page on Monday (September 8).

According to the statement, the Bangladesh army had already issued an official press release on the matter earlier. However, a vested quarter has been deliberately spreading false and baseless rumours. Such misleading propaganda is nothing but an attempt to disrupt normal stability and could hamper the overall electoral environment.

The Bangladesh Army expressed hope that the DUCSU elections, being held after many years, will be conducted in an orderly and peaceful manner through genuine democratic practices, setting an example ahead of the upcoming national elections.

The statement also conveyed best wishes to all candidates, voters, and others involved in the polls.
