No chance for Awami League in upcoming election: Press Secretary
Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the Chief Adviser of the interim government, has said that the Awami League will have no opportunity to participate in the upcoming national election.
He made the remarks while laying floral greetings at the July Memorial at Nabaganga Park in Magura on Friday (October 24).
"The nation and relevant institutions are already preparing for elections, and after the rainy season, election activities will intensify at the local level," he said.
Shafiqul Alam criticized the Awami League, accusing it of involvement in abductions, killings, and vote manipulation in past elections.
He emphasized that this time, voters will cast ballots freely in a festive atmosphere, and uncontested elections will follow rules outlined in the RPO.
He also inaugurated a memorial at Nabaganga Park to honour July martyrs, stressing the importance of remembering local heroes of the Liberation War.
