No chance of deferring SSC exams: Education Board
The SSC and equivalent exams are going to start from April 10. However, a group of students has demanded that the exams be postponed by a month. According to them, it has been difficult to prepare for the fasting month of Ramadan and the exams being held right after Eid have disrupted studies.
Although students have called for a movement on social media to demand this, the Education Board has made it clear that there is no chance of postponing the exams.
On Thursday (April 3), Professor SM Kamal Uddin Haider, coordinator of the Inter-Education Board Examination Controller and Dhaka Education Board Examination controller, said that all preparations have been completed and the examination equipment has been sent. Now there is no logical reason to defer the examination.
He said the examination routine was announced 8-9 months ago. All students and educational institutions have prepared accordingly. Now it is completely unreasonable to demand that the examination be deferred a week in advance.
Education Board officials also said that the HSC exam will start only after the SSC exam is over. Therefore, it is not possible to change the exam routine.
The education board claims that some vested groups are misleading the candidates on Facebook. We have information that most of the students are in favour of the exam. Some people are conspiring through Facebook, said Kamal Uddin Haider.
He requested the students and guardians to prepare for the exam without listening to rumours.
Rejecting the demand for postponing the exam, board officials said that the exam will be held on time unless there is a natural disaster or major unrest. Therefore, candidates have been advised to make final preparations now.
