BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that his party does not have any doubt regarding the national elections. However, he said he is a little worried.

He claimed that some individuals and political parties are trying to create unnecessary issues, but the people of Bangladesh will never support such conspiracies. He expressed hope that an acceptable election will be held on time.

Mirza Fakhrul said this while visiting the venue of the Thakurgaon district BNP biennial conference on Sunday evening. The conference will be held on Monday.

In this context, Mirza Fakhrul said: "Under a fascist and undemocratic government, more than 75 cases have been filed against BNP leaders and activists in Thakurgaon, in which about 7,500 people have been accused."

"Despite such a difficult situation, Thakurgaon BNP is now vibrant," he added.

Fakhrul said: "All preparations for the conference have been completed and the party’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman will deliver a speech as the chief guest, which will create new hope and joy among the leaders and activists.’ He is optimistic that this conference will usher in a new horizon within BNP."

District BNP General Secretary Mirza Faisal Amin, Vice President Abu Taher, Municipal BNP President Shariful Islam and leaders and activists of associate organizations were present at the time.
