No conspiracy can succeed if people remain election-oriented: Home Adviser
Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury expressed hope that no conspiracy will succeed if the people remain election-oriented.
He made the remark while visiting the BADC cold storage of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) on Saturday noon (August 23).
He also confirmed that the law enforcement agencies have completed all necessary preparations to hold the elections in February, in line with the timeline announced by the Chief Adviser.
In response to a journalist’s query about entering of foreign weapons during elections, the Home Affairs Adviser said, “All necessary steps will be taken to recover such weapons. Measures will also be enforced at all times to prevent weapons from entering the country, not just during elections.”
Speaking about election preparations, Jahangir Alam said, “We are making all necessary arrangements for the upcoming elections. There will be no obstacles to holding the polls in February as announced by the Chief Adviser.”
Commenting on election-related propaganda on Facebook, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, “The country is independent now—anyone can express themselves freely. Once the people and political parties engage in the election process, no one will be able to disrupt it.”
When asked about border security, the Home Affairs Adviser said, “Our border is completely safe and secure. The people living along the border are highly vigilant and conscious, ensuring strong protection in the area.”
