No culture is superior to another: Farooki
Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki on Wednesday said that no culture is superior to another.
“No culture is better or superior to others; it is simply different,” he said at the ICESCO (Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) Conference for Cultural Ministers of the Islamic world, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, according to a press release.
The adviser emphasized the importance of an active ICESCO that can effectively promote the cultures of its member states to the rest of the world.
He also called for stronger collaboration among member states, highlighting that a more engaging working relationship could help build vibrant creative economies and cultural industries in each country.
At the beginning of his speech, Farooki paid deep respect to the brave Bangladeshis who made the July uprising a reality.
The conference will conclude on Thursday.
