Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, has said that no decision has been made yet about her participation in the upcoming national elections. He shared this information in an interview with TIME magazine, a US-based publication in New York City, on Thursday.

Joy said, "No decision has been taken so far regarding her (Sheikh Hasina) participation in the election."

He also mentioned that Sheikh Hasina is "upset and disappointed" with the current situation in Bangladesh.

Talking about the interim government, Joy added, "If they want to run the country for a year or 18 months, then I believe it is the right decision."

Earlier, Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Awami League's joint general secretary, had announced in a press release that the Awami League will take part in the upcoming elections.
