No enforced disappearances reported in Bangladesh over past year: Attorney General
Attorney General Md. Asaduzzaman has said that no enforced disappearances have taken place in Bangladesh over the last year.
Speaking at a poetry event commemorating “Red July” at the Central Shaheed Minar on Fiday, the Attorney General emphasized that controversies around the years 1971 and 2024 are unnecessary and divisive.
He urged people not to forget the history of past struggles while honoring the fight of July 24, warning that forgetting the past could lead to forgetting the significance of July itself in the future.
Md. Asaduzzaman also revealed that efforts are underway to recover money laundered abroad through various channels, and that the funds will be repatriated to Bangladesh soon.
He concluded by calling on everyone, regardless of political beliefs, to raise their voices against murderers, looters, and rapists.
