No false cases filed in the country after August 5, claims law minister

Law Minister Asaduzzaman has claimed that no false cases have been filed in the country after August 5, 2024.

He made the claim while responding to journalists’ questions after a meeting on law and order, drugs and corruption monitoring in Satkhira on Sunday afternoon.

Law Minister Asaduzzaman said previously the complainants in false cases were usually the police. However, there is no evidence that a single political false case has been filed in the last two years. The police have not filed any new cases as complainants.

He said, “Whoever the criminal may be, legal action will be taken against him. Strict administrative measures will be taken to stop the smuggling of drugs, arms and gold.”

On the implementation of the July Charter, Asaduzzaman said, “There is no disagreement or condition on this matter. Overall implementation will be completed according to the July Charter.”

Earlier, Law Minister Asaduzzaman took part in an exchange of views meeting with the judges of Satkhira. He assured that vacant posts of judges would be filled quickly and case backlogs reduced to make the judiciary more dynamic.

The meeting on law and order, drugs and corruption monitoring was presided over by Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Kaiser Aziz.
