Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the Chief Adviser, said that the election will be held in February. No force can delay the election. The election will take place as stated by the Chief Adviser. He made these remarks to reporters on Friday (15 August) in Magura, after visiting the graves of Shaheed Rabbi and Shaheed Al Amin following Friday prayers. Shafiqul Alam said, “The whole nation is prepared for the election. All election-related institutions have already begun their work. Once the monsoon season is over, election preparations will be visible in every neighbourhood. You will see the grand atmosphere of the election.”

প্রধান উপদেষ্টার প্রেস সচিব শফিকুল আলম বলেছেন, ফেব্রুয়ারিতেই নির্বাচন হবে। এমন কোনো শক্তি নেই যে নির্বাচনকে বিলম্বিত করতে পারে। প্রধান উপদেষ্টা যেটা বলেছেন সেই অনুযায়ী নির্বাচন হবে। শুক্রবার (১৫ আগস্ট) মাগুরায় জুমার নামাজের পর শহীদ রাব্বি ও শহীদ আল আমিনের কবর জিয়ারত শেষে সাংবাদিকদের তিনি এসব কথা বলেন। শফিকুল আলম বলেন, নির্বাচনের জন্য পুরো জাতি প্রস্তুত। নির্বাচনের সঙ্গে সংশ্লিষ্ট সব প্রতিষ্ঠানও নির্বাচন নিয়ে এরই মধ্যে কাজ করতে শুরু করেছে। এই বর্ষার মৌসুম শেষ হলেই পাড়ায় পাড়ায় মহল্লায় মহল্লায় নির্বাচনের হাওয়া লেগে যাবে। নির্বাচনের যে মহোৎসব সেটা আপনারা দেখতে পাবেন।
