No fuel shortage in country: State minister for local govt

There is no shortage of fuel oil in the country, State Minister for Local Government Mir Shah Alam has said. He said the government has taken a three-month plan to keep fuel supply normal.

He made the remarks while visiting Mahmudul Hasan Chand Bazaar in Tangail city on Friday morning, April 3.

The state minister said the country's fuel import and supply situation remains normal. Various measures have also been taken to save energy, including keeping markets closed by 6:00 pm and reducing expenses of ministers and secretaries by 30 per cent.

He further said although development has been talked about for a long time, the ground reality in many cases appears different.

During the visit, he also discussed road and infrastructure development of Tangail's Park Bazaar. He said discussions have been held with the district local government department, and development work will begin soon.

Fisheries and Livestock State Minister Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, local BNP leaders and district administration officials were present during the visit.
