No information on issuing red notice against Hasina: Chief Prosecutor

The prosecution team does not have any information about the issuance of a red notice by Interpol against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said Tajul Islam, Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal. He said that this information will be with the Ministry of Home Affairs or the Police Headquarters.

Tajul Islam said this at a press conference of the International Crimes Tribunal at around 1:15 pm on Sunday.

Various media outlets reported the issuance of a red notice by Interpol against Sheikh Hasina on Sunday, citing Tajul Islam. When asked about this, he said, "The prosecution does not have any information about the issuance of a red notice. The Ministry of Home Affairs or the Police Headquarters will know this. On November 13, the tribunal applied to the NCB, the relevant branch of the police headquarters, to issue a notice against Sheikh Hasina through Interpol.

Tajul Islam said, "The goal is to complete the investigation of the genocide and crimes against humanity case against Sheikh Hasina within 3 months." He said that the tribunal has received complaints against many people. The investigation against Sheikh Hasina is being done on a priority basis. The trial will begin when the investigation report arrives.

Meanwhile, no information was found on the Interpol website at 1:35 pm regarding the issuance of a red notice against Sheikh Hasina.
