State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam has addressed the recent administrative shuffles at the Foreign Secretary level across key diplomatic missions, including Delhi, New York, London, and Geneva. She stated that changes, reshuffles, and the induction of new personnel within government ministries are part of an ongoing process and nothing unusual.

She made these remarks while speaking to reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday (July 9).

When asked whether these reshuffles had any connection to affiliations with the BNP, the State Minister dismissed the notion. She emphasized that observing the Prime Minister's actions and decisions reveals that efficiency and performance are prioritized above all else across all ministries, including Foreign Affairs. The primary consideration is an individual's proficiency and sincere dedication to serving the nation, she added.

Addressing questions regarding the sweeping changes in the Foreign Ministry, she reiterated that reshuffles and new appointments within ministries represent standard administrative procedures. She noted that once an official government statement is released, the specific details regarding the locations and reasons for the reshuffles will become clear.

She further stated that reshuffles in any ministry are determined by patriotism, sincerity, dedication to duty, efficiency, and individual competence. In her words, "The first and foremost consideration is an individual's capability."

The State Minister concluded by saying that the process is still underway, and comprehensive details will be available as soon as the government issues the official gazette notification upon its finalization.
