No obstacle for AL to participate in elections: Badiul Alam

Head of the electoral system reform commission, Badiul Alam Majumdar, said that he does not see any obstacle to the Awami League's participation in the elections. No obstacles will be placed on the political parties to make this election festive with the participation of all political parties.

He said these things in response to questions from journalists after an open discussion with people from different levels, including the local administration, political parties and civil society, on the reform of the election system at the Rangpur District Commissioner's office on Thursday (December 19) afternoon.

At that time, he said that in the past, the Election Commission could not work impartially because elections were held under party governments. However, in this election, election officials will be free from all kinds of influence. Due to which free, fair and impartial elections will be possible.

The head of Head of the electoral system reform commission also mentioned that a reform proposal will be submitted to the chief advisor by December 31 after discussions with all political parties and stakeholders.
