The proposal to purchase 25 vehicles for advisers, ministers, and equivalent-ranking officials at prices beyond the limits set by current regulations has not been granted policy approval.

The Ministry of Public Administration had previously requested the approval. However, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, in a meeting held on Tuesday and chaired by Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, did not approve the proposal.

In a statement from the Ministry of Finance, it was mentioned that the Ministry of Public Administration had placed a proposal during the meeting, seeking policy approval to purchase 25 vehicles for advisers, ministers, and officials of equivalent rank at prices exceeding the limit set in Rule 76(2) of the Public Procurement Rules (PPR), 2008. However, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs did not approve the proposal.
