Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said he does not see any possibility of push in following the victory of the BJP in West Bengal elections.

“Despite this, we have instructed Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to remain alert along the frontiers so they can respond promptly if any such incident occurs,” he said.

The minister made the remarks while briefing reporters after a session on the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Deputy Commissioners’ Conference held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.

Expressing optimism, he added, “I hope no such incident (push in) will happen.”

He said, "The BGB has been asked to be alert. Hopefully, there will be no push-ins. However, they have been asked to be careful."

In the afternoon session on the last day of the district administrator conference, the DCs have been instructed to list the withdrawal of political cases, recover illegal licensed weapons, and list the cases during the July movement.

Instructions were also given to the local administration to make the Eid journey safe in the meeting.

In addition, the Home Minister announced that the campaign against drugs and online gambling will continue.

The Home Minister said, "The police will use body cameras to prevent counterfeiting on roads, highways and railway lines. And machines will also be provided to detect fake money. Security must be ensured 7 days in advance. Passengers will have to get off the bus at the ferry pier and board the bus ferry; this matter will be monitored."

Also, the campaign against drugs and online gambling will continue.

He said that new laws are being formulated to suppress crimes committed using technology, including online gambling.
