No investigation committee will be formed over the viral Facebook reel video of Beauty Rani Pal, head teacher of Pitaitikar Government Primary School in Fenchuganj upazila, Sylhet, said Sylhet District Primary Education Officer Sakhawat Ershed.

Speaking on Monday (July 27) afternoon, he said no criminal offence was found in the video. The matter has also come to the attention of the State Minister for Primary and Mass Education. Considering everything, the decision to form a probe committee has been withdrawn.

Earlier on Sunday, after a training workshop for education officials of Sylhet division, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj had told journalists that he had not seen the video himself. However, he had learned from others that a teacher had posted a video singing a song and there was nothing obscene in it. He also remarked that he did not consider singing to be wrong.

After the video went viral on social media, discussions were ongoing about forming a probe committee to examine whether it violated government conduct rules or social media usage guidelines. Ultimately, however, the initiative has been dropped.

On Thursday, head teacher Beauty Rani Pal posted a short reel video on her Facebook account, showing her walking in the school premises in a saree to the song "Aaj kemon mon udashi hoye, dur ajanay chay harate."

After the video went viral, it initially drew criticism on social media. However, later teachers from across the country and people from various professions came forward in support of the teacher.
