No rain expected in Dhaka, temperatures may rise

No rain is expected in Dhaka and adjoining areas, while temperatures may rise slightly, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

In its forecast issued for the six hours from 7am Sunday (September 27), the BMD said the capital’s sky may remain partly cloudy, but the weather is likely to stay dry. The rise in temperature could make the day feel warmer for city residents.

No warning has been issued for the country’s inland river ports from 5am to 1pm, and no warning signal has been advised for the ports during the period.

However, the BMD’s nationwide forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may occur at one or two places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions by 6pm.

Despite the broader possibility of rain, no rainfall is forecast for Dhaka during the six-hour morning period. Day and night temperatures across the country may rise slightly.
