No risk of communal unrest amid elections: Religious Adviser
Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain has stated that there is no risk of communal unrest surrounding the upcoming national elections.
He affirmed that preparations are underway to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process.
Speaking to reporters on Friday afternoon (August 15) after inspecting the construction of the Sri Sri Advaita Acharya Temple Complex in Tahirpur upazila of Sunamganj, Dr. Khalid Hossain said, “The government has already laid out an electoral roadmap, and the Election Commission will proceed accordingly.”
He added that essential preparations — including police training and formal deployment plans for the military — are in progress. “We expect to hold elections on schedule in a transparent and participatory manner,” he said. “Once completed, power will be handed over to the newly elected government.”
Additional Superintendent of Police Zakir Hossain and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mehedi Hasan Manik were present during the visit.
