BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said there is no room for election engineering in the upcoming polls. He expressed hope that if the election is held fairly and impartially, a significant opportunity will arise for state reform and the restoration of democracy.

He made these remarks during a press conference held at his residence in Thakurgaon around 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 10. He said that for the last 16 years, the BNP has been carrying out movements and struggles to restore people's voting rights and democracy.

Mirza Fakhrul said, "We believe the election environment is favourable so far. If the election is held fairly, a major opportunity for reforming the state structure will be created."

At the press conference, Mirza Fakhrul said BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman’s recent visit to Thakurgaon has had a positive political impact. There is no room for election engineering this time. He also expressed faith that government officials and employees will perform their duties appropriately.

He further added, "BNP takes every election seriously and never considers its opponents weak. Jamaat is carrying out various strategic campaigns and trying to spread false news. However, BNP believes in positive and constructive politics."

Mirza Fakhrul said, "Our stance is to vote for whoever you wish. The most important thing is for everyone to go to the polling centres and exercise their voting rights."
