No specific information about Mirpur building catches fire: Fire service
Fireworks display has reportedly went wrong in the capital's Mirpur area as the video of a burning building went viral on Facebook.
A video circulating on social media shows a part of a multi-storey building on the side of the road being on fire. The post said that the fire broke out in a multi-storey building in Mirpur-7 on Wednesday (December 31) night.
However, contacted fire service's control room hotline, duty officer Md Rakib said that they do not have any specific information about the incident so far.
Meanwhile, during the three-day state mourning, all types of fireworks, bursting of crackers, flying lanterns and gas balloons were banned in the Dhaka metropolitan area.
A notification issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) said that no cultural programmes, DJ parties, rallies or processions can be organized in open places.
The notification also orders people to refrain from honking their car horns loudly or engaging in any activity that causes public disturbance.
