Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. AFM. Khalid Hossain has said there are no threats or challenges in the country ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.

He made the statement on Saturday (September 20) while visiting a Puja mandap at South Nala Para in Chattogram, organised by the Durga Puja Celebration Council.

The adviser said that all intelligence agencies are working to prevent sabotage and that none of them had reported any threats or disorder. He added, “People of all communities are citizens of this country. Bangladesh is a unique example of communal harmony.”

He assured that Durga Puja will be held peacefully and festively this year, with security forces and administration instructed to maintain round-the-clock surveillance at the mandaps.

He also criticised the previous government’s construction of 560 mosques, claiming many were built unnecessarily near one another to establish political dominance, leaving some now without worshippers.
