NOAB mourns Khaleda Zia’s death

The Newspapers Owners’ Association of Bangladesh NOAB has expressed deep sorrow at the death of the country’s first woman prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a statement signed by NOAB president AK Azad on Tuesday, the organisation said her struggle for democracy transcended all divisions and opinions. It prayed for the forgiveness of her departed soul and extended condolences to her family and party.

Khaleda Zia passed away at 6am on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital.
