Following the announcement of a ban on the Awami League, the home of Abdul Wadud Pintu, president of the party’s Noakhali municipal unit and former chairman of the district council, was attacked and looted.

The incident took place around 11:30pm on Saturday (May 10) at his residence in Jaykrishnapur village, under Noakhali municipality.

Pintu has reportedly been in hiding since the fall of the Awami League government on August 5 last year.

According to his family, around 70–80 motorcycles carrying two to three people each arrived and stormed the house. Before the family could react, the attackers began vandalizing and looting.

Pintu’s wife, Sabrina Mahjabin Jayonti, said, "The attackers broke into and damaged every room on both the ground and second floors of our house, stealing valuables. They also vandalized three cars parked in front of the house and attacked tenants’ rooms. I could not identify any of the attackers."

Sudharam Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamrul Islam confirmed that glass windows were smashed and law enforcement visited the scene. However, no formal complaint has been filed yet by the victims.
