Noman worked as an uncompromising fighter to restore democracy: Tariqie Rahman

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of veteran politician Abdullah Al Noman, one of the organizers of the Liberation War, BNP Vice Chairman and former minister.

In a condolence message on Tuesday (February 25), the BNP Acting Chairman said that the late Abdullah Al Noman, as a patriotic politician, took a stand for the people in all the crises of the country. He was highly appreciated by the countrymen as a politician.

Tarique Rahman said that Abdullah Al Noman, who believed in the principles and ideals of former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, has worked tirelessly as an uncompromising fighter in the movement to restore democracy since the founding of BNP. Because he used to do politics with the great goal of public service in mind, he made a huge contribution to the development and progress of the entire country including his own area as a government minister. His contribution as a unique organizer of the Liberation War of 1971 will be forever remembered by the nation.

Abdullah Al Noman was both a wise and popular politician, the acting chairman of BNP said, adding that he was also a decent and humble person and was widely accepted. His fight for the freedom of speech and expression of the people, firmly holding Bangladeshi nationalism and multi-party democratic spirit, was unforgettable.

He said that he was deeply saddened by the death of an idealistic politician like him.
