Nominations of all candidates for reserved women seats valid

Muniruzzaman Talukdar, ‍the returning Officer of Election Commission, today declared all the nomination papers submitted for the 50 reserved seats for women in the Jatiya Sangsad as valid.

The nomination papers were declared valid after verification in the presence of the candidates at the Agargaon election building in the capital on Monday (February 19).

A total of 48 nomination papers from Awami League and 2 nomination papers from Jatiya Party have been declared valid.

In this regard, the returning officer Moniruzzaman Talukder said, "Even if no one's name is omitted in the selection, anyone can appeal against the valid nomination paper."

He further said, "February 24 has been fixed for disposal of the appeal as per the announced schedule. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is February 25. After that, if no one withdraws the nomination papers, the valid candidates will be declared elected unopposed."
