Nor'wester storms likely in 20 districts including Dhaka
The Meteorological Department has forecast that Nor'wester storms will blow at a maximum speed of 60 kilometers per hour over at least 20 districts of the country including the capital Dhaka. In this situation, river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.
This information was given in a warning issued for the country's river ports from the early at 1pm on Saturday (May 2).
The weather forecast says that rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds at a speed of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour may blow over Dhaka, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and Sylhet regions from the north or northwest. In view of this fear, the river ports in the concerned areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.
According to the department's forecast at 7am today, the sky in Dhaka and its surrounding areas may remain cloudy to overcast until 1pm. There is a strong possibility of rain or thunderstorms at any time during this period. However, the temperature during the day may increase slightly after the storm.
The meteorological office also said that the minimum temperature in the capital Dhaka was recorded at 24.6 degrees Celsius at 6am on Saturday. In addition, sunset today will be at 6:28pm and sunrise tomorrow Sunday will be at 5:23am.
