Nothing like rise of militancy happened in the country: Home Adviser
Nothing like the rise of militancy has happened in Bangladesh since the interim government took office, Home Affairs Adviser Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said.
He made this comment in response to a question from reporters after visiting several police stations in the capital on Wednesday (April 2) afternoon.
When asked whether innocent people are being accused in the student murder case during the July coup, the Home Affairs Adviser said, "It is 100 percent true. There are many names in the complaint who are not involved in this murder. They also gave the names of those who were not in the country at that time. This was done by a particular number of people for their interests. We are conducting the investigation properly to prevent this from happening. But the police investigation will not happen. Again, we have ordered another inquiry so that no innocent person is punished. Innocent people will not be punished but those who are guilty of misdeeds will be punished."
The Home Affairs Adviser said, the law and order situation is fairly satisfactory. But there is room for further improvement. We will move towards better. The forces are also working for this. If we all try, it will move towards better.
