Notification issued declaring Thursday as general holiday
The interim government has declared Thursday, October 10, a nationwide general holiday in observance of Durga Puja.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification regarding this today (October 8).
All government, semi-government, autonomous, semi-autonomous, and private offices will remain closed on this day. However, essential services will continue to operate.
Emergency services, including electricity, water, gas, fire services, port operations, and telecommunications, will not be affected by the holiday.
Additionally, hospitals and their associated emergency services will also remain open, ensuring that medical personnel, equipment, and necessary supplies are available.
