Notification issued reducing application fees for all govt jobs including BCS

The government has issued a notification fixing the maximum application fee for recruitment exams in all types of government institutions, including BCS, at Tk 200.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued the notification on Wednesday (December 11) by amending the Bangladesh Civil Service (Age, Qualification and Direct Recruitment Examination) Rules, 2014 in consultation with the Public Service Commission.

Deputy Secretary (Rule-5) of the Ministry of Public Administration Udayan Dewan confirmed the matter to the media.

Earlier, the application fee for the BCS exam was Tk 700, but it has been set at Tk 200. The marks for the oral exam in BCS have been reduced from 200 to 100. As a result, the BCS exam was previously held in 1100 marks, but now it will be 1000 marks.

The decision to reduce the application fee for government jobs has been made effective from November 27. On December 4, the Secretariat Committee on Administrative Development set the maximum application fee for government service at Tk 200.
